GHRH (growth-hormone-releasing hormone)

GHRH (growth-hormone-releasing hormone) is a hypothalamic peptide hormone that binds the GHRH receptor on pituitary somatotroph cells and stimulates the synthesis and release of growth hormone. In research, GHRH and its synthetic analogues act on this receptor to study the growth-hormone axis, a mechanism distinct from the ghrelin-mimicking GHRP class.
